MEET THE FOUNDERS

Bassam Jalgha (left) and Hassane Slaibi (right)

Hassane Slaibi and Bassam Jalgha have been playing music together far longer than they have been making hardware. Both engineers, they decided to combine their passions for music and tech by developing the company’s first award-winning product, the Roadie Tuner, in 2013. Hassane has absolute pitch and would always know when Bassam's 12 string oud was slightly out of tune. They were both deeply intrigued by sound and audio processing and Bassam was proficient with robots already, having programmed a humanoid robot to have human-like fall avoidance reflexes for his masters thesis.

The obvious next step was to team up and start this forward thinking music tech company. We are now growing quickly with the help of a team of 20 and lots of love from our Roadie community. The first Roadie Tuner garnered worldwide attention and accolades, including the TechCrunch Disrupt 2014 Audience Choice Award. In 2017 and 2018, they successfully released the more advanced Roadie 2 and Roadie Bass. The team reached new heights still in 2020 with the release of the Roadie 3 and are now moving into the space of music education. A brand new hardware solution is currently in the works and the release of their first guided teaching app, Ukulele by Roadie, has many anticipating what is to come.
